Data Analytics:

Statistical methods can be generalized for analysis of any general information processing system:

Two main statistical methods are used in data analysis: descriptive statistics, which summarize data from a sample using indexes such as the mean or standard deviation, and inferential statistics, which draw conclusions from data that are subject to random variation (e.g., observational errors, sampling variation)

Procedures:

Exploratory data analysis:

Descriptive Analysis - Some measures that are commonly used to describe a data set are measures of central tendency and measures of variability or dispersion. Measures of central tendency include the meanmedian and mode, while measures of variability include the standard deviation (or variance), the minimum and maximum values of the variables, kurtosis and skewness.
Inferential Analysis:
Temporal: ML to find trends over time periods, different trends over different times can yield lifecycle segments. Yield seasonal changes.
